The issue with the external provider has been resolved. The intermittent issue was caused by a very large-scale volumetric DDoS attack that was directed to the provider's servers and impacted multiple regions.

We are aware of intermittent issues causing some websites and servers including Liquidweb.com to experience failures when routing DNS through a 3rd party web security provider.

If you are pointing your website or server hostname or IP to an external security hosting provider, please check their status page and consider updating the DNS for your website or server to point directly to your Liquid Web solution in order to work around the intermittent issues they are experiencing.
